Get this, though. They also seem to be planning a...Monopoly movie. Which Ridley Scott was interested in directing. As the Angry Nerd says, 'I am dead, fucking serious'. He's expressed some thoughts about the movie and what he'd like to do with it, too! Look 'em up!

As far as the trailer itself goes, first of all, yes. they're fighting aliens. I remember hearing about that, too...Otherwise, well...it has Liam Neeson as a pissed off Naval officer. That could be cool. Otherwise, ehhh....It doesn't necessarily even look 'So-Bad-That-it's-Awesome'.

And they don't want new ideas either?? Sigh...

I read a book on screenwriting years ago and the author said don't waste your time working on your own stories but instead write a script for an existing TV show. (Sorry I don't remember the book or author since after reading that I returned the book back to the library.)

Well, yeah! I see what the author's getting at. Probably because he knows what I just said; Hollywood...doesn't seem to want new ideas. :P Basing a script off a previous TV, at least one that people know and like, will give people more of something they already know they like. Theoretically, anyway. They manage to even fuck stuff like that up still, though...

Eh, it could be an imitation of Das Boot or The Hunt for Red October or something.
