Interview with Reid Young (Starmen.Net)

Reid Young, co-founder of both Starmen.Net (the biggest EarthBound fansite on the web, and creators of the Mother 3 English Fan Translation) and Fangamer.net was good enough to give an interview with me at PAX East.  Watch to find out some little known history behind the fan translation, interactions between Nintendo and Starmen.Net, and his thoughts on why EarthBound endures as one of the biggest cult hits ever.

Interview with Peter Jones (Co-Creator of Snapshot)

The Commodore had a chance to talk to Peter Jones, the Supreme Hero of Business (no really, that's his title) for Retro Affect, creators of the indie sensation Snapshot - a soon to be released game that takes the standard platformer and changes everything by adding a simple but innovative new mechanic, Braid style.  This was one of the most talked about games of PAX East 2011 amongst our group, hands down!

PAX East 2011 - Gameplay from Portal 2 & Star Wars: The Old Republic

Weekly Wringer 13: iPad 2 (recorded at PAX East)

In a special Weekly Wringer from the expo floor of PAX East 2011, the Commodore discusses everyone's comments on the iPad 2, next week's question, and cosplay!  (Well, in the background)

D&D Microsoft Surface Demo - Hands On at PAX East 2010

We got a few moments to talk with the team from Carnegie Mellon that's been developing a Dungeons and Dragons tabletop that works with Microsoft Surface - Surfacescapes. They were very informative and also allowed us to play a short demo game that beat the hell out of drawing grid maps with pencil and paper.

PAX East 2010 Q&A Panels

As an extra, we have a couple of question and ansewr panels to share with you from PAX East.  First, Gabe and Tycho themselves answer a few questions, and have to deal with the horror of a drive-by text adventuring:

And second, a panel of all the musical guests who performed at the 2 concerts put on at PAX East.  Jonathan Coulton, MC Frontalot, Paul and Storm, The Protomen, Anamanaguchi, Metroid Metal, and the Video Game Orchestra.  Find out what makes the masters tick, and you might also hear an important announcement or two. (I'm looking at you, Coulton!)

Live from PAX East 2010: Day 3

We round out the last day with a leisurely stroll through the Arcade Game room and get our hands on the original classic video game. To wrap up the trip, we have a short slideshow set to an appropriate Jonathan Coulton song.
