I finally got around to finishing The Child Theif by Brom.
This story follows the exploits of Peter, an odd child with pointy ears and golden eyes. Peter comes back and forth from the lands of Avalon to bulid his army of Devils (children he has "saved" from the streets) to fight the twisted Flesh Eaters trying to destroy his home land.
The story focuses on on 2 characters mostly, Nick and Peter.
Peters arch focuses more on his origins and why he is stealing children. Peter is as much a prankster as you might think he is, pulling tricks on people at the worst momments he can. This child-like nature is only a cover for the inner hate people has for the adults who he has psent a life-time being scorned by.
Nick Is a runaway saved by Peter. He embarks on an adventure in Avalon, disocvering both is spenldor and it's danger. Nick must overcome many trials in Avalon, or surly die from the savage wilds of it's lands.
This gruesome story puts some interesting twists on iconic characters from the James Barrie classic novel. Characters aren't always who you think they are. Brom creates just as vivdly with his words as he does with his brush. This book is a must have if you enjoy eter Pan, the art of Brom or just needing new fantasy for your shelf.

Read it...was...dark....
Very interesting take on PeterPan though.
If you like Dark fanticy this is a good choice. Not the fastest mover but good characters on all sides.
