E3 2011: Tour of the Videogame History Museum
In our final video from E3 2011, Roo & Pat the NES Punk take you on a magical tour of wonder through the fledgling Videogame History Museum. From the Odyssey to the PlayStation, learn a little bit about everything the market had to offer in the 20th century.

I LOVE my Saturn and Dreamcast, it's nice to see them get some love, especially the saturn. (The three Panzer Dragoon games are excellent.) I still get flac for owning and liking the Saturn... :/
It is now a life goal of mine to visit this museum... Is it permanently located somewhere or is it a con only thing?
It's actually 3 guys who have pooled their collections together at this point. They're in the process of looking for a site somewhere in CA to house all the stuff. But they need funds first.
Great job as always, In my opinion the best part of both videos was looking at the different prototypes, I never seen most of those, also the Nintendo Tv with the built in slot was pretty neat a cool concept in my mind.
What was your favorite part of the museum Roo? What about Pat's?
Man I figure I'd have a hard time just leaving that exhibit. So much cool stuff.
I wish they would let people check out the prototypes in better detail. Not like every day people, I mean people from the internet media or something so we can get more detail about some of them, which work, what thing have been changed, what was actually enjoyable.
Nostalgia.... levels... exceeding... maximum capacity....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ohhh I can identify a LARGE Chunk of that, even though I didn't own a lot. It's really interesting hearing the history of this stuff and seeing what was ahead of its' time. What worked, what didn't? And things like the Power Glove and 3D were just ahead of their time or poorly executed. Some with bad price tags. $699 back in the day makes a $599 price tag look cheap by comparisson.
There were a lot of consoles there that had superior graphics to what the standard or most popular consoles were, but had poor third party support or an excessive price tag which contributed to their downfall. All in all very interesting ^_^
My first console was an Atari 2600.
Mind blown.
Mine was the Colecovision.
I know this is a few months old, but I just found you guys and there is something I wanted to point out about the Atari Video Music (no machine). It didn't actually produce music or do sound manipulation at all as Pat seems to think. It was a device that put out visuals based on input from a sound source. Similar to say the visualization function on WinAmp or WMP only with more rudimentary more Atari 2600 like graphics displays. It was basically created as a device for stoners to watch while they were smoking weed and listening to music. According to legend at a product pitch a Sears representative asked when they were smoking when they thought up the thing and one of the Atari staff walked out from behind the stage with a lit joint. (yeah, I just wanted an excuse to put that in there, and yeah, the factuality of that does seem a bit dubious)
Oh, and just to let you guys know, this isn't an insult on your guys or anything. I love what you guys do and I realize it is a rather obscure machine and he was just going on the fly and probably didn't have any prior knowlage about it or a chance to prepare.
