Echo Screen #10: The Indefensibility of the Star Wars Prequels

It's been years since Star Wars Episodes 1-3 hit the cinema houses, but the rancorous taste still remains.  After using that time to ponder and reflect on the prequel trilogy, the Clan of the Gray Wolf digs into them with full force!  (See what I did there?)  To put it mildly, these movies are retched, disgusting examples of how a beautiful and wonderful movie franchise can be brutally destroyed with wanton disregard for its fanbase.  Listen in as the Clan of the Gray Wolf explains why the prequels are just plain indefensible.

NOTE: This podcast is laced with unadulterated nerd rage.  Listener discretion is advised.

In this episode:
 - (0:00) Intro & Best of the Worst
 - (7:45) Episode 1, The Phantom Menace
 - (16:45) Episode 2, Attack of the Clones
 - (27:30) Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith
 - (33:45) Effect on the Original Trilogy

Great podcast.

As much as I love the original trilogy, I think that indeed it is a pain to watch Episode I & II. I hope fans can re-edit those movies, just like they did with Episode IV (Star Wars: A New Hope Revisited) and added the "Death Scene for Jar Jar" Which surely felt amazing:

I don't know if you guys have seen it before"

There's also a fan made project which includes heavy editing to the prequels and make em "less bad". Taking shit dialogue, useless scenes.

That's pretty interesting, I've never seen "A New Hope Revisited" before.

I have heard of the re-edits done to the prequels (especially Episode I), but I've never been ableto find them.  I probably did a half-assed search on YouTube and was distracted by something shiny after I didn't immediately find what I was looking for.

I think Haden Christianson is the bes...oh god I cant go on.  It's not even worth joking about.

There are a few parts I agree with you on this debate, but I honestly dont think the prequels are terrible movies.  I mean there is worse out there.  Do they hold a candle to the originals, no, and with Haden christianson they never will. However, they arn't terrible movies.  I mean they are watchable at least once in a while.

Question: Did Keanu Reeves teach Hayden Christensen how to act?

I did hate Episode II,

I did hate Episode II, Episode I and III were ok but the continuity in the Star Wars Universe and the love for Star Wars will forever be tainted. Hayden was REALLY bad. "Can't You See That I Love You?" Just a terrible line and delivered even worse.
