Well...two of ours have been selected.

Guillotine is great fun. And you MUST try playing Dominion.

I could list 5 more, but I'll see if they come up before I steal any thunder.

Re: Favorite Card Game?

Solitaire (regular, double, spider, and free cell) and Texas Hold'em is about the extent of my card playing.

Though I own a handful of Pokemon cards and a bunch of the Star Wars Card Game cards.  Never really understood the rules, and didn't really have the patience to learn, as I really didn't have anyone to play them with anyway.

For the longest time I didn't understand MtG, I played a few hands, got the combos down, the nstopped playing. I couldn't tell you how to play it for the life of me.

I owned a Yu-gi-oh deck....but to be fair Iwas playing with a 12 year old sister at the time. I still havethe deck, and 5 years later I can still tell you how to play. Good times actually, real simple and easy to pick up..then again it was aimed at 9 to 15 year olds :P

Re: Favorite Card Game?

I gotta play Muchkin... sounds like a lot of fun.

As for CCGs, I loved Magic, Star Wars, and Star Trek all for different reasons.  Of those, I only really play Magic nowadays - mostly because setup and play time is minimal.

As for card games that aren't "customizable" per se, Guillotine is great fun.  But another one I discovered recently was Chrononauts, which is also a hoot, especially if you have the players describe how they're changing historical events.  If you didn't catch it, Boomer wrote a great blog about it here:

My top favorite games

Star Wars CCG

Lord of the Rings TCG

Wars TCG

Yu-Gi-Oh

Star Wars TCG

Star Wars Jedi Knights CCG

Pokemon

I just bought some Star Trek CCG cards after watching the review on the board. I dont know how to play it yet but I did shell out a lot of cash for a case of boosters of Voyager and Borg along with a starter deck box of Voyager. When I finally learn how to play it I'll have to remake my list.

Munchkin is a lot of fun.  I wish I knew enough dorks that would be willing to play it with me on a regular basis; as a consequence, it's been quite awhile since I've partook.

I used to perform Google searches all the time for websites that had a multiplayer flash version of Munchkin; no such luck...

Munchkin should be made into

Munchkin should be made into an online game for multiplayer, (also will help newcomers to the game instead of buying the game for $24.95 than donating it to a second hand store and me buying it for $2.00.) The people I use to play with moved out of town.

The only other card game that I play is Mille Bornes. The link below is not the version I have, I have the 1971 version in which I prefer that box design.

Props to Mille Bornes, so much fun.

For Non CC's I like Mille Borne, Munchkin (of course), and Fluxx (http://www.wunderland.com/LooneyLabs/Fluxx/).

CC's I've done my stint in a lot of them. I think my favourties were Ani-Mayhem, Magic, and Yu-gi-oh.

Been looking for a Mille

Been looking for a Mille Bornes site regarding information on it but is hard to find.

Did find a shareware version of it though. I played one and a half rounds of it on two different computers (Windows XP and a Pentium MS-DOS 6.22) and the game runs a bit fast when dealing the cards. Tip: right-click to discard.

Hmm

I used to play that yugioh card game, quit a while ago. I used to play MtG WAAYYYY back in Freshman year in High School but since lack of players and care (and patience for that matter), I quit, I used to have a rat (swamp) deck which destroyed the opponent's hand and deck just by being summoned with very low costs like 1 land each. The max was 2 for a rat.

I used to collect PKMN cards back in middle school but didn't play the game, I still remember to this day buying the venusaur card from the basic booster pack at a card shop for 20 bucks, then within a week later bought a couple of booster packs and one had a Venusaur in it, I was happy, surprised, and yet disappointed all at the same time. I think I still have that venusaur somewhere, I got rid of every magic the gathering card I owned and most of my YGO cards.

Lol Mr. K

Datleco, I used to play Yugioh as well. Got tired of magic and was surprised at how simple it was, yet how in depth a strategy you could make in it.

I actually got certified as an Upperdeck Judge for local tourney's.

Haven't really followed it in quite some time though. I moved from making competitive decks to makin fun 'themed' decks, but still tried to make them semi functional / competitive. Now days the only time I play is with 1 or 2 people through YVD though.

Always Mixing

I was always mixing up themed decks and surprisingly got pretty far in most tournaments I participated in, but never really tried out in regional tournaments or shonen jump tourneys, so I never had that opportunity, I could have sworn I had an average of 3 running decks at one time but throughout the month I had at LEAST 12-15 deck themes recycled or sorted through. I guess I just can't seem to settle on any deck idea, my main 3 that I constantly revisited were dinosaurs, dragons, and warriors with different variations of them. What were your favorite themed decks, Aestolia?

I always seemed to be ahead

I always seemed to be ahead of the curve on my themes and ended up disassembling just as they came into fashion.

I ran a control deck way way back during metal raiders I think, Ran a zombie deck for a while. Now I've largely done away with all my cards, except for the last decks I put together and decided to keep:

VWXYZ: light machines: (Including a wicked Jinzo / Spell Canceller combo)
Magnet Warriors: Getting 3 of each magnet warrior was a bitch since they were only from a game promo.
Final Death: Stall Deck with Exodia, Destiny Board, and Final Countdown.
Gate Guardian: This deck was only about 3/4 done when I finaly did way with everything.

And a bit more typical but:

Dark Magician: However. I was a bit atypical that I put in all the gimmickey things in it: Thousand Knives etc, also it included all the special gimmick Dark Magician summons at the time: Dark Knight, Dark Sage, Dark Magician of Chaos, Magician of Black Chaos, Dark Eradiator Warlock, Sorcerer of Dark Magic...

It was so tribute heavy and large that people would always tell me in was inneffective. But I"d say about 8/10 times I'd have at least 1 Dark Magician by my 2nd turn, if not more. So it worked fairly well. Super gimmic, but a hell of a lot of fun.

Love me some Munchkin

Well, I am a huge munchkin fan, I got to play about a week ago at Wizard World where I got my ass kick (playing for top prize witch was Zombie Munchkin, I tryed! ). Still a vary enjoyable game if I say so my self, I have almost all of the normal extra packs, I am just missing one.... funny enough they sold out of the one I wanted!

Anytime I goto a con I always pack munchkin with me but my biggest problem is NO ONE want to ever play!

I found this small demo if you guys want to see how the game is played, althought the game is better when there 3 to 6 people playing. I also play with 4 different door card cuz my deck is huge, good times!

Middle-Earth

Wow, I'm shocked (well, not really, honestly). I guess I'm more saddened than shocked. No one has mentioned Middle Earth CCG (NO! Not LoTR CCG, dang it!). That is my all-time favourite card game. I haven't played it in years because I don't know anyone who would want to play it, but it's great if you're a Tolkien geek and like long, complicated card games (which I do).

As for Munchkin, that's super-fun too. As a matter of fact, I'm going to be playing it a little later today with some friends! Well, Munchkin Booty, to be exact.

I've played SO many CCG's in my time, but ME:CCG is still my favourite.

Game of Thrones

Magic the Gathering

Star Wars CCG

Star wars is a fun ccg, but the game play is not as deep as Magic or Game of Thrones.  I started to play magic as a kid with my brother, then started to play competively online when they created there online client.

Now I just use OCTGN to play so I dont have to spend all my money on cards I already have.
