What's your favorite song from a game? Or favorite songs? Feel free to make a list! And yes, I mean actual songs; it needs to have singing of some kind in it to count (even chanting, I guess, so FF7 soundtrack lovers should feel happy! :P)!
My top two favorites are probably the two songs from Xenogears; Stars of Tears, and Small Two of Pieces, sung by Johanna Hogg. They're...just beautifully sung, and of course, Mitsuda's music is great, too! But there are some personal reasons why I think of those songs fondly, as well...
The Metal Gear series usually has a good song in every entry, some better than others. you can't go wrong with Metal Gear Solid's classic The Best is Yet to Come, sung by Aoife Ni Fherarraigh, I think it is. The second you hear her haunting voice begin to sing, it takes you back, and beyond...It makes you reflect on well, probably life itself; this is probably especially true if you played the game itself.
However, I also really love Portable Ops's Calling to the Night, sung by Natasha Farrow, and an adoration for Heavens Divide, from Peace Walker, and sung by Donna Burke. There are videos of her singing this live, and sometimes the sound isn't as good, but you can still tell, she's great.

Actual video game songs with lyrics narrows it down to only Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure for me. I will post both the DS and PlayStation versions since the DS version (the one I have) didn't have the English vocals for the songs.

My favourite song from a game is "Eyes on me" from Final Fantasy VIII.
This song awakens so many emotions and memories in me.. Final Fantasy VIII was the first FF I've ever played, and I was surprised to find out that games could have such a complex story and intriguing characters! Till today I think that no other game has such a beautiful love story like FFVIII. I was around 12 when I played this game and everytime I listen to this song now, it reminds me of how important love is (and how much I wanted to have a girlfriend like Selphie back then ha~).

Well, if singing is defined as "to utter words or sounds in succession with musical modulations of the voice; vocalize melodically," then sure, I think chanting generally should count. Besides, I figure this way, it could also give some folks the chance to possibly mention Halo if they want to. I'd find that acceptable. Or The Beginning and the End from Xenogears! ;D
Also, a couple of other tracks from Final Fantasy XIII; Liberi Fatali, and Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec. I'd find those acceptable, and understandable, too! 'Fithos may not...count as much, but I really don't want to split hairs here. If someone names it, I'd find it acceptable. ;P
