Go Watch Avatar
If you have not seen Avatar yet, you need to. I loved it and I want to own it. www.imdb.com/title/tt0499549/
This is James Cameron's latest work and it is a fantastic example of what state of the art CGI and motion capture can produce now.
But don't go expecting a facinating new story or a new twist on an old theme. As far as the plot goes, everything in this story has been done before in sci-fi literature and films.
You've got a parapalegic ex-marine, who, through the unfortunate loss of his brilliant scientist brother, is recruited to pilot an Avatar. Avatar's are human/alien chimera biotech that look like the native aliens. Humans are using the avatars to try to find a diplomatic solution to move them off a rich deposit of incredibly valuable ore. Most of the avatar pilots are deeply sympatheic to the aliens cause and eventually, the help stage an uprising in response to human aggression. This story has elements of Pocahontas and Soldier in it.
