Salutations, everyone! I'm new to the forums, but no stranger to watching CotGW's stuff. I discovered you guys by way of a good friend of mine because he mentioned Roo's review of the game EarthBound, of which I'm a big fan. I watched it, and was hooked. I finally decided to join the forums because I like discussing games -as well as other geeky stuff- past and present with people.
Oh, and I may as well explain my username for the benefit of those who wish to know: "Golden" represents the Golden Sun series, of which I'm a big fan. "Tales" represents Namco's Tales of series, of which I'm also a fan. "Geek" represents that I'm proud to be one. That's about it. If there's anything else you wish to know -so long as it isn't too personal, mind you- ask away. :)

I've been a long time viewer of the site (about a year or so) and I finally decided "what the hell, why not sign up officially?" and long story short, here I am.

Hello everyone! I'm BanditKing, and as you can see I'm a new here as well. Well, new to being an actual member anyway. I've been watching CotGW's videos for over two years now. I think the first I saw was the 16-Bit Gems ActRaiser episode. Ever since watching the video I've been unofficially subscribed to this place. I've grown to watch the Weekly Wringer and other parts of the site over time. Still, my main interest in CotGW hasn't changed. I've always been interested in this site because of how I can learn about games and gaming culture just from this one spot.
I'm probably not what you'd call a hardcore gamer. I've always pretty much stuck to the same stuff I enjoyed as a kid, platformers and pokemon. But as I started to explore other genres I eventually encountered this site, and in turn this site introduced me to many different kinds of RPG, Adventure, Strategy, Platforming...basically a lot of different games I couldn't ever dream about. As well as their history and significance in gaming culture.
Some game concepts I thought would be cool to play as a kid I found in action thanks to this site. So I'd like to thank everyone within the community with as much sincerity as I possibly can. Again, thank you very much!
So, why haven't I joined 'til now? Well, as a person I'm more of a quiet observer. I don't think of myself able to contribute anything of real importance here. I never really saw the significance of creating yet another account to a site I may or may not regularly visit. I don't like to take up space, I'd like to be of actual importance. But over time I've gained more confidence in my views of gaming and felt that if I could contribute any thought that was my own rather than something I'd heard or learned, then this account would be worth it.
Besides, I plan on figuring out how you all came across this much information. I've recently watch Roo's Rise of the RPG videos and read Mr. K's comment regarding the true story behind Final Fantasy. And even other comments of videos on this site make me wonder where you go to find all this stuff? So, might as well stick around right?
