I've played Pokemon since the begining, with Red Version Nintendo hooked me from the start, I've play so many Pkmn games over the years, but I have painful memory that will connect with any other Pkmn fan.

I had my Ultimate Team that I LOVED and it was with my favorite Legendaries , I didn't use a Gameshark or any other way to cheat, this team was amassed with Pokemon from several games over 3 years, here is what it consisted of

Latios - Ruby

Rayquaza - Emerald

Mewtwo - Fire Red

Suicune - Colosseum

Entei - Colosseum

Raiku - Colosseum

Now I had spent HOURS of game time gathering and assembling my team and getting them to Emerald, but when the Nintendo DS came out and Pokemon was announced for I was excited but it I didn't know there was a way you could transfer your Pokemon from the 3rd Generation to the 4th, so without doing any research like an idiot i sold my games to fund buying the DS Lite and something else, but when after i did that a month later I found out that you could and it was SUPER easy, so you can imagine how pissed and sad I was to find this out that, and we're not talking like low level Legendaries to they where Lvl. 78 all of them, all nicknamed, all mine and I felt like I had abandoned  my team, truly a sad memory that I have

I still find that form of

I still find that form of connection to this day when I play the Black version. I feel bad for dropping them off into the box and to collect dust, even moreso now since we have to worry about friendship and all that jazz (but not to just evolve them). I can't settle on just 6 guys and am constantly swapping around my party for new ideas, I'm not a big fan in using legendaries even though I have a few favorites that I still don't use. I don't know, maybe it's my ego, maybe I like the challenge of raising my regular pokemon from the every day world, shoot, if PKMN were REAL and I managed to catch a legendary, by far I'd keep it in my party because it takes a lot of skill just to catch one as opposed to getting a master ball or set up so you automatically get a chance to catch each legendary in some form or another. But if we were in that universe, obviously we wouldn't have that chance and that one kid in that universe wouldn't be destined to catch EVERY damn legendary out there.

I am also constantly starting new games for when the main game and post game storylines are completed so I constantly have something to do instead of just raising my pokemon and constantly re-challenging the Elite 4 and trying to complete the dex. I can't say I share the same issue with you by selling my games to get another system, I also remember researching the game to make sure how to transfer older pokemon to the new generation, I'm still looking forward to Ruby and Sapphire's triumphant return to the DS (or 3DS, I wouldn't doubt either one to be honest), especially how they're already exploring different layers and depth in graphics, different angles in and out of battle.

My team that I probably raised THE most would be from the 1st gen, more than half the time I'm constantly dumping my starter because they're not the kind of pokemon I like to raise. Like in black version, as soon as I got the fully evolved form of Oshawott, I deposited him so I can finally raise my frog that evolved into Seismotoad, amphibions, reptiles, and some birds and mammals are my main type to go after, such as sandile in this new region, the kind of mammals differ and depends in my own personal opinion, when I get the opportunity to run into specifics, I immediately spend the time (stop whatever I'm doing in my quest) to catch that pkmn and raise it as part of my party. It was by Hoenn when I started to deposit the starter since each type had their own respective pokemon I would rather have instead, I like Treeko and all, but to be honest, meh. 5th gen (Diamond/Pearl) was not at all an interest when it came to the starters, I love all the turtle pkmn, but even Torterra I deposited. I had no interest in Piplup's forms and some interest in Chimchar.
