Legend of Zelda Second Quest Charity Announcement
Sunday, April 3rd at 3PM EDT (12PM PDT), Pat and Roo will play The Legend of Zelda: The Second Quest in order to raise money for Americares.org in support of Japanese tsunami relief.
UPDATE: Thank you all for making the mini-marathon a success! We surpassed our initial goal of $1000, and if you missed it, we should have some videos up fairly soon. Also, if you would still like to donate to the cause, I urge you to do so directly at the Americares website.
There are prizes for the top 5 donators! The person who donates the most will get first pick of the amazing prizes below, 2nd highest donator will get 2nd pick, and so on:
- A working, handcrafted ceramic replica ocarina from LoZ:Ocarina of Time & songbook from Songbird Ocarinas
- 5 mystery NES titles, handpicked by Pat the NES Punk himself
- A copy of The Legend of Zelda & Zelda II: The Adventure of Link for the NES
- A copy of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the Nintendo DS
- A Legend of Zelda laptop skin

I already donated what I could.. .:-/ But I hope you guys are very successful! Japan needs some help, that's for sure!
*Edit*
Worse still, looks like I'm not even gonna be able to be there live. I have to cover for someone at work. :(
Today!?!?! I'm at my fathers today, I'm probably gonna be driving home while you guys are doing this. Hopefully I'll get to see some of it. And Roo, be sure to be a little mean to Pat like he was to you.
Right at the end during the Contra run Firefox crashed and froze my computer but the audio kept playing.
I don't check the site for a few days and I missed this?!?!
I don't know if you guys read these comments, but please tell me how can I still donate, and when do you release the vids?
Hey Roo,
I left at around $450 and I see you smashed your original target!!! Well done ! And well done to Pat too.
Did pat finish the game, as I know he got to dungeon 5.
I watched a bit, but the chat was busted or something. I couldn't comment, and I got more and more frustrated, so I started playing FF13. Sorry.
AlucardDalv: Check the update. I added a 2nd ChipIn for those who missed their chance to donate during the actual marathon. All donations through tomorrow still count toward winning the prizes!
On the chipin widget the date says 5/5/2011 is this a typo or is donation actually open for another month?
Yeah, that's a typo. Only through tomorrow, so we can get prizes out to their winners.
Sorry Roo, I hate to be that guy, but I couln't find the new chipit button. I am not really concerned with winning the prize; I would still like to donate. I went into the link on the homepage but I saw no way to do so. I'm still completely down to help with the cause. If there is a way to paypal or directly donate I would love to know how.
Sorry, Alucard. We had it up for another day in order to facilitate more donors, but we ad to take it down eventually in order to finalize winners and send out prizes. However, if you (or anyone else) would still like to donate to the cause, I urge you to do so directly at the Americares website.
Hey number 6th top donator I just gave you a present I think lol. I hope there wasn't a 6th place tie lol.
I ended up finishing 2nd but due to region locking on the nes games and already owning phantom hourglass which I hate I smashed my 1st ds while playing it. I aimed for the chair but got the wooden floor. (yes I do have anger problems.) People who shake like I do can't play touch screen controlled games with small sticks lol.
The laptop skin which I sort of liked would not make it here just seeing how badly damaged regular parcels from the US get so seemed a waste of time. So I passed.
I would have passed on the items even if I was first though as I won a ocarina from team mounting gaming. Maybe my 202$ can count towards something next time lol I'm not a jerk like that. I knew before I donated that even if I finished in the top that I would pass.
I am quite strange though with all the stuff that's happened where I lived I gave nothing. My city had its 3rd big flood in history 1800's 1974's and now 2011 my state was 75% flooded at one stage then we had a category 5 storm hit 3 weeks later. That's all in the last 4 months.
I'm a weird penguin lol
Hehe. Well good on you for donating, though. :)
hey roo, any updates on when the video for this will be up?
