People keep talking about Minecraft so I checked it out. The problem is you need to create an account, myself I do not like making an account for something that might be a one time thing but did notice Minecraft classic. Played that in single player mode with a warning saying that I need to be signed in to save and the game not is bad but my issue reminded me why I don't like PC gaming. The use of the keyboard and mouse together is annoying even more so on how my keyboard is setup on a drawer under the desk and the mouse is on the desk.

Since trying it I keep going back to it till the game crashes. Keyboard and mouse got it to work for me, just don't use the keyboard when doing stuff (slow work though). I created an account just to save my game and I save very often and lost count on how many times I loaded the game. I am going to bed since I played it for 9 hour, took a one break hour at midnight, so I might buy into it.
Edit: March 8, 2011 Since I have three post back to back and want the post a new one, so I merge the post below with this one.
I been a multiplayer tourist, just entering a Minecraft Classic server and looking around and people make excellent builds and I learned what 'grief' means in Minecraft, and I wonder why people would do that.
Here are a couple of videos, and I can't find the server for the Enterprise TOS.
Yes, but need to buy a prepaid credit card first, which will be whenever my income tax refund comes in.
Something about buying the game, when looking into the game you have to mine for resources and craft your own tools, both of which is why I prefer Classic. But in the future classic/creative mode will be added to Beta and which I will assume that the free old-dated classic mode will be taken down.
Edit: I so want to make Chaos but looking/thinking of it Chaos stands the same height of the four Light Warriors combined. Credit: FF1 Board by pattyboi, on Flickr

Rather than go with a pre-paid credit card, which often have fees like - if you don't use it for x ammount of time we charge you y.
Go to your bank and ask about applying for a secured credit card. This is basically the same idea as a pre-paid credit card, where you need money up front. However, this is a ''real'' credit card, instead of taking away from a balance it you are paying by credit, and still get a monthly bill on how much you owe. The reason for the up front money is incase you aren't able to pay your bill. It's like when landlords ask for first and last month, so they can kick you out if you don't pay your rent, and they aren't stuck with the loss.
This way you can start building your credit and have a proper credit card. My credit is shot to hell because of a lot of problems I had when I was younger, I can't get a CC now. However I can still get a secured CC if I so desired.

It's actually a Visa gift card that are found were there is a display for gift cards for various nation-wide business. For personal info it is not needed to give but here is is an FAQ from their site.
Why should I register my Visa Prepaid Card for online, mail or telephone purchases?
Online, mail and telephone order merchants often require that personal information, including name, address, telephone number and email address of the Visa Prepaid Card owner be verified with the card-issuing bank prior to purchase.
For the fees for not using it when a balance still remains after the 12th month, I am while aware of them. (It's a loop-hole because the government stepped in and said that they can not expiry from one year after the purchase date. That's the way it is in Canada anyhow.
As for the secure credit card just looked into it and should try it out.
Yeah I'm a Canuck as well White Mage, maybe it's different in the US but that's why I mentioned the fee's.
Not sure who you bank with but I know that my Bank (Canada Trust) certainly recommended it, the other nice thing about them is that often you can start with a low value card as well, (like $500) which often they don't like doing on the unsecured.
__________________

I figure the lowest would be $500, I would prefer $200 max since I would use it for online shopping, but know credit card companies don't understand why people would want a lower limit. (I knew a person that their limit was raised to $10,000 and wanted the limit dropped back down.)
NOTICED: Minecraft Beta is on hold for now since I am looking into a new computer. Good thing about it when I do buy Minecraft it should not be pushing the system resources to max.
I have the same feeling, but since I am only using Classic and haven't bought the game it wouldn't be right for me to lobby for a private Clan of the Grey Gray Wolf server.

Can someone that has Minecraft Beta please tell me when the game is running on how much RAM/CPU it is using? I have looked a couple of time online now and the system requirements is a popular question but people post saying it should work with those specs or says any newer computer should run it.

Not sure MWM, but i'm runnning the beta fine. I've got a 2.5 Duo core, with only 2GB ram. Now I am running on mimial settings (tiny draw distance etc.) but that's only because I'm also running off of on board video.
So way I see it, if a 2.5 / 2gb with on board video can run it fine on minimal settings, if I put a vid card in there I'd be fine to ramp it up.
Now if you're looking at some of the HD texture packs and stuff, yeah I'd say you'd need more.

I guarantee that I will not be using anything HD since I don't care about it, (give me a VHS player with a black and white 13" TV and I will be fine.)
I figure the computer I am going to get (which I am not sure when) should be enough since 4GB of RAM is a step up from what I am using now (512MB). The fog I don't mind since that is what I look at most of the time.

~sigh~ just because a monitor is capable of doing HD does not mean it's providing something in HD, I had to explain this principle to someone who hooked up and HD television and was complaining that Lawrence of Arabia looks exactly the same. If I pop a dvd into my computer and watch it, it will not be the quality that is commonly refered to as 'HD' despite my monitor.
As for saying 'HD texture pack' I am simply using the nomenclature that's currently in place for minecraft. anything up to 16x16 is just a texture pack, and pretty much anything that's using 32, 64, or 128 is considered, and labled, an HD texture pack. These also generally require a patcher to install rather than just dragging it into the texture pack folder.
As HD litteraly means, High Definition, it is accurate to call these texture packs HD as they have a much higher definition compared to something that's only 16x16.

No offense intended Aestolia, but that was kinda a bit of a rant to go on considering that comment wasn't directed at you or anything you said. :-P I know exactly what the HD pack is. If you'll notice, I already said it. I was talking to MWM. He said he didn't care about anything HD, but I'm saying that anything he does on his computer already is HD. I have checked into it and some people say they use JoyToKey, and I checked WineHQ with them giving JoytoKey a Bronze Rating (Application works, but it has some issues, even for normal use; a game may not redraw properly or display fonts in wrong colours, be much slower than it should etc.)
It would of helped for this computer (Windows XP) but I am saying screw Windows, if I am going to learn I new OS why not try a different OS first.

MCEdit a small map flat since I have cleared out an area on another map which took multiply sitting to do, started clearing it and realized that once the Obsidian walls are up that will leave no room for anything else so made a normal map MCEdit a 150x150 square area flat, imported walls from other map, imported Final Fantasy NES building so the Light Warriors and Chaos would be on the same map (also the Final Fantasy NES map has lag due to massive underground water and lava) and finished copying part of the left wing (Chaos's right wing) down in my graph paper notebook which took up one page that is 26.7cm by 20.3cm 4 squares per 2.5cm/1 in.

Think of the travel time from Corneria to Crescent Lake yet alone the north without an airship. Luckily with making stuff from games on the NES everything is made up of pixels.

Well you'd change the scale to match, Like Corneria, you just make sure the city and Castle fit inside the walled area you designate. Cities are the only ones you really need to worry about since the rest are all underground.
Well some of the dragon islands and the ice cave, since they have 2 world map entrance points. but you can fudge the length on those if need be.

To start the only reason why Tux is being posted here is that it is in 3D. Also it took 2 days to get Minecraft to work in Ubuntu and am looking forward going to Windows 7 but will say that working in Minecraft on a new computer is nice since no more blinding whiteness and it runs excellent without slowdown with no fog that I finished most of the roof above Chaos.
(Note: Neither picture was done by me found them and can't remember where.)

Chaos is 110 blocks wide plus 2 blocks extra space, 97 blocks tall plus 3 blocks extra space, plus the four walls that go around that with a roof.
Once the paper work was done I did this pretty much in one sitting and was dozing off during the filling in of the black. I am going to hold off on another mega build for awhile since the Light Warriors than Chaos took a lot of time, also I thought the Light Warriors took a lot of space the building that they are in can fit in Chaos's area and only take about half the area.
One thing that made me do this is any Minecraft Final Fantasy 1 Light Warriors were shown they were before class change and thinking of it any gameplay screenshot were also before class change. As for Chaos, Garland HA! Chaos is where it at as I prefer Chaos over Garland.

Hope other people will find it useful too because I realized while watching the video you are running Windows and hopefully (fingers crossed) that I have a new computer within the next couple of weeks and running PC-BSD.

That was a very nice thing to do.

Yar... sorry White Mage, I just went with the lowest common denominator on that one. When it comes to non windows operating systems I'm sure that there are programs which do the same thing as JoyToKey, but I couldn't name them for you... odds are though that the setup is pretty much the same.

I think I should rethink this.
MCEdit a small map flat since I have cleared out an area on another map which took multiply sitting to do, started clearing it and realized that once the Obsidian walls are up that will leave no room for anything else so made a normal map MCEdit a 150x150 square area flat, imported walls from other map, imported Final Fantasy NES building so the Light Warriors and Chaos would be on the same map (also the Final Fantasy NES map has lag due to massive underground water and lava) and finished copying part of the left wing (Chaos's right wing) down in my graph paper notebook which took up one page that is 26.7cm by 20.3cm 4 squares per 2.5cm/1 in.

it would be cool, and no small feat to recreate a 3d version of the FF1 world, I may try and start dong that.

I have officially hollowed out my island.
Now all I need is lava to make it my secret volcano lair...

And the shadowed area is 50x60.
Think of the travel time from Corneria to Crescent Lake yet alone the north without an airship. Luckily with making stuff from games on the NES everything is made up of pixels.

I don't know how well to scale it would be, since you have to take into account how big the Minecraft world is as well. but it would still be awesome.

Hows that Multiplayer server coming along? So far I have only been playing single player, so I'm excited to try playing multiplayer.
The scale would be off since when you enter a place the inside is larger.

Edit: New Image, link to full screenshot, link to YouTube Video and info about the build.

Huh, looks good.
I'm not really gonna try to do anything else cool until the CotGW server is up... and finals are over, because it'll probably be done around then.
