New App: DM's Tracker

I have a review for a D&D iPhone App that I really like: DM's Tracker by KBAR Apps

http://www.kbarapps.com/dmtracker.html

When I first tried out the app, I was impressed and excited to use it. I've used it quite a bit since, including the games I ran at GEN CON, and I like it. Personally I prefer it over iNit, the only other DM tool available for the iPhone.

First of all, the app doesn't have any obvious bugs.

To set it up,  you can create characters (PC's and monsters) and record HP, Movement, Initiative, Perception and Insight, AC, Fortitude, Reflex, and Will. Character creation includes a handy "clone" button.

Once you have your cast of characters, the app will let you create "groups", which can be used for encounter groups. And you simply check-box the characters that you want to have in the group.

After that, its time to roll initiative and track the battle. The app makes it easy to roll player and monster initiative individually. Also, it's got a great set-up for monitoring conditions and tracking damage. There's some space for notes as well.

There are a few changes I'd like to see, and I know that the developers have submitted a new version to Apple that has some of these changes.

I'd like to see a spot to monitor action points and death saving throws. And I'd also like an ongoing damage reminder.

What I would like even better is to separate characters from monsters and be able to add groups of monsters to groups of characters (aka "the party"), so that the monster library can be separate from the party.

I want to enter attacks (Name, attack modifier, damage roll for each, at-will, encounter, recharge) for the monster characters, and in the combat screen, be able to push a button for an attack and get a result. In addition, a pop-up for recharges would be grand.

A minor quibble: I don't care for the way manual entry of initiative works. I'd rather be able to directly enter the final value (since my players roll initiative the old-fashioned way). Also the box containing the image, base modifier and result takes up alot of space, especially for the relative importance of initiative
