RooAbout a week ago, Exploding Rabbit released their hack of Super Mario Bros. The whole game is represented as it originally was, level design and all - but you can play as one of many classic NES characters, with their move sets intact!
Link uses his sword, Mega Man his mega buster, even Simon Belmont has his flame whip and axes! The really sweet thing is how well each character fits into Mario's world. The super mushroom and fire flower give each character their own unique power-up. This is the game I've been hoping Nintendo would make since 1988, and it took the resourcefulness of its fans to make it come true. Hopefully there'll be some more innovation along this front to bring this cast of characters into other classic NES games. God, some days I just love the internet.

Here is your mission if you choose to accept it:
Easy Mode: Mega Man, Bill
Normal Mode: Samus Mario
Hard Mode: Link Simon
Nightmare Hell Mode: no warps
I've actually found Samus to be pretty easy too. Especially when she get's the wave beam. But really, all the shooters have a bit of an advantage (especially with Lakitu or the Hammer Bros.
Simon, on the other hand, handles exactly as he does in Castlevania - like a lead shoppong cart. So although he's awesome (with perhaps the best music as well), I always die within a minute or two.
So glad Walgreens doesn't have lead shopping carts!
