My only problem is that i cant help but laugh to myself because of the Wii i just cant think of nintendo wining in the graphics department again that hasnt happened since the Snes in my opionion.
I really hope the screen thing is in the controler
But wait i would rather just have the consle announced
But wait again last time with the NGP thing with the developers saying we've scene it it ended up being true so i hope this is the case.
I grew up as a Nintendo fanboy, but I can't get excited about this. Nintendo does a great job of developing games, but their systems are opening the floodgates for shovelware :|
It took a couple weeks of owning a Wii to decide that I'm not buying into gimmicks anymore. Show me the games once they come out, Nintendo isn't going to impress me with hardware.
@bigguy, I'd be lying if I said it didn't have my interest combing the home console with the handheld device. Finally I can fianlly make progress on a game I've been playing on the road. I'm wondering what the controller alone would cost for this thing if that's true. Current cost for a controller on any console is around $60, you going to tell me this new controller will cost the same?
You are right about gimmicky shovelware on the Wii. Let's be honest tho, who didn't see alot of it coming when they started putting Wii's in nuring homes. However, Nintendo aparently wants to recapture the "hardcore" crowd with this console, so I'll try holding off my judgements till E3... where it might not even be shown.
@mikeke352: It's funny you say that, everytime I find project cafe thread on /v/, the opening picture for the thread is a Dreamcast controller...
I want, no NEED another Four Swords. This seems like a good device to do it on. The potential in managing personal inventory screens in multiplayer role playing games seems ripe.
I know that is a mock-up since Nintendo controllers don't have four shoulder buttons, no Select button since the SNES and the image above reminds me of an X-Box controller.
So I am waiting for more info from Nintendo since the info now is very little, that and take the 3DS for example until Ashens and Roo posted videos on it my thoughts on it were different than they are now.

If you can read French, basicly Rockstar has commented that they have a dev kit for the new Nintendo console, and there is speculation that Grand Theft Auto V will be a launch title for the new console.
These are all the known mock ups. Some are pretty funny looking, others could be possibilities, and then there are some that... well... let me put it like this, the ipadwiifitPSmove controller isn't happening anytime soon.
That's a Classic Controller Pro. It has four shoulder buttons, and it has a select button. Even the original Classic Controller had these, although the shoulder buttons were shaped/placed differently. And I don't know why everyone says it looks like an XBox360 controller, when the both all modern controllers are based off of Nintendo's designs (except for analogue shoulder buttons; thanks, Sega!). ;-) To me, the shape looks a lot like an SNES controller with a GameCube controller's handles.

I will say that I am always super-excited by new Nintendo consoles. Even if it's just for the shallow reason that I want to see what Zelda or Mario games will look like with better graphics. Nintendo's unveiling will have me on pins and needles; of that, I can guarantee everyone.

I can't wait for E3 now! Especially if it's true that the controller will have a screen and that you can download games to it and play anywhere. But how the heck would that work? I'm guessing you'll only be able to play smaller games on the controller.
Another nice thing would be to be able to connect your DS/3DS to the console and use it as a controller.
look something like this.

I'm all about it!
That controller looks comfortable to hold, yet tough to handle and awkward to use.
To effectively utilize the touch screen, you would have to take your hand completely off the controller. There is alot of fumble potential there.
That said, consider it bought. I have yet to be disappointed by a Nintendo system (I never owned or played a Virtual Boy).
Rumor has it you'll be able to download games to the controller and take them with you.
This is suppose to get a full announcement at E3/

It reminds me of the dreamcast controller with the VMU. kinda. but waaaay better.

You guys know that picture is just a mock-up, right? :-P And it's essentially a Classic Controller Pro with a screen on it.
Anyway, after the mock-ups and theories about the Wii pre-launch, I'm not believing a thing about this until I see it. ;-)

I am aware it's just a mock up, there is another mock up that looks like the bottom half of a DS. Kinda hoping for something more like the one above.
Anyway

MWM, I did name the controller I was talking about. If you've never seen one, you shouldn't have told me I was wrong. :-P
