Tinker me this: an NES PC

Folks, I'm a tinkerer. Somewhere between me taking apart dad's laptop as a kid (I got it mostly back together thank you) and modding my Xbox for the sheer fun of it, I learned that I loved cracking things open to know how they work... and maybe even make them better.
Now, I know there's no earthly way to make an NES any better than it already is. But I've thought about this for a long time and I've decided that my next project should be to make an NES PC. Great idea right? Stuffing PC guts into an NES sounds like a fun and rewarding project. But I feel like there's something special about an NES PC, so I can't just use it for everyday crap. It's an NES man! So I'm asking you, what's the best use for an NES PC? And no, I wouldn't blow on the CD's before I put them in the drive.

playing NES emulators?
I like this idea, fund it!
As long as you can make the old school controllers function with it, I'm all for it.
Wasn't there a keyboard for the NES?
All you need now is a Power Glove . . . lol
I'll send you my old NES and you can make me one, too.
Or post the directions here and I'll try it myself.
I was just thinking this might make a fun feature for the summer. Maybe we can make some videos and update progress? Sounds great to me. Thanks everyone, you rule!
awwwwww yeah, shit just got real :)
Really, Arkus?
You should play super mario crossover on it!
