My girlfriend and I were talking about something today and I mentioned the "Soylent Green is made of people" line for some reason. Don't ask why, cause I couldn't tell you, but she asked me what the hell it was supposed to mean, at which point I related how Charlton Heston shouts that line in the movie "Soylent Green" because it's true. Then I realized - "I just spoiled that movie for her, should she ever want to watch it." Which then made me realize "Crap, I've never even SEEN that movie, and yet I know that line; somehow, along the way, that movie was spoiled for me also."
Long story short, it got me thinking about universally spoiled movies, movies whose twists are so part of our pop culture you can't avoid knowing ahead of time. This phenomena is, of course, even worse in the age of the internet. Then I started to wonder if I could make a list of movies now pointless to watch for the shocking twist, here's the ones I came up with:
Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back
Soylent Green
Apollo 13
Inception
Sixth Sense
And so on. Can anyone think of other movies that fit into this criteria?

No, I am your father.

I watched the movie with the "Soylent Green is made of people" line (which going into the movie I didn't know that) and it was a good movie but that line/plot felt out of place with the rest of the movie.

I figured out Sixth Sense in the first half hour.

Soylent Green is an interesting example because it was actually spoiled by the trailer of the movie - before it's release.
Charlton Heston ftw!
SNL ruined Soylent Green for me.

Haw haw! Awesome! I love that image, Capt. Shadow! >D Yeah, that's....pretty much all the ones I can think of! The biggest ones, of course, being 'I am your father', 'Oh my God! I was Wrong! It Was Earth All Along!' and 'Soylent green is made of people!' People who have never seen those movies still know their secrets. You just...can't avoid them!
And of course, here's an appropriate link-- http://www.veoh.com/watch/v1513845XgMakDMe
