Great wringer Commodore.

Great wringer Commodore. Sorry I didn't comment on last one but I honestly didn't have anything to add to the convo. I don't have a laptop and I don't have a tablet. So... I'm ignorant about that stuff and when ignorant it's better to just listen to what wiser/smarter folk have to say.

So far as the video game world I'd like to spend some time in, I knew the answer the second you asked. Why? Because it's something I have pondered for some time on my own. I always like to get swept away into the worlds of books, a good movie, or games and so it's something I've spent quite some effort into exploring!

I would absolutely have to go with the worlds of Myst. You know, those older point and click adventure games? The idea that the worlds are built (or summoned) through writing in linking books and the cool scenery, people, cultures, creatures, and gadgets have always really stuck with me. I don't know why, because the worlds are actually kinda tiny and built to serve specific functions.... but still. They always peaked my interest.

Can't wait to see what other ppl say on the subject.

Intro

My first post. Gotta say, thanks Commodore128!

Nothing can replace the Core i7 in my desktop, for now.

BTW, am I the only person who would like to spend a couple hours trapped inside Resident Evil..?

Okay, maybe I was a little

Okay, maybe I was a little out of touch with the Sci-fi stuff, but you can definitely see the general direction I was hinting at.

Anyway, call me crazy, but I'm a huge sci-fi fan, like really big into sci-fi (well as far as video games are concerned, never been into Stargate, Battlestar, Firefly and the ilk), so if there are any worlds I would love to get a fly-over of, would definitely be things like the Armored Core and Xenosaga (yes, I liked the Xenosaga series,  sue me.).  Or hell even the .hack universe or in fact any MMO with a living, breathing and ever changing world.

Think about being able to just tap into World of Warcraft, Rift, etc and experience those universes in a real environment, not through the window of your PC.  See a Rift gate tear the a section of the world apart and legions of elementals spawn from it or see the Horde forces smash the Alliance scoundrels into their graves.

Spoiler Alert for Assassin's Creed: Learn how to counter quickly, most single-handlely destructive ability The Hero has.

I would have to say The

I would have to say The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time's setting. To just walk around in that huge field, and see how vast it is would be amazing. To be where I fought memorable and raced against time, to just set foot in the land where I first became a hero would me the world to me. I want to get lost in the landscape, to explore every inch of the map I had and even go past the invisible walls the game has set.

Are we taking into account seasons here as well?

I imagine it would be nice there during spring time. Since OoT has no seasons that would be the time I want to visit.

Game Setting's.

*HUG*  I froze for a second when I heard my name (Or username) very odd to hear it on a quality mic not in an online video game. And no I don't have any lays this time I just have some pretzels that I think might be stale. And I haven't played Assassin's Creed (There is an Onlive ad next to my comment so I am sure I remember how to spell it :)... Side note, how do you end parenthesis with a smile? Oh and props for knowing what comic that is from) but I know I want to. Just like you really except I've avoided watching people play it so I can expirience it myself.

Anyway, the games I play I don't really look at my games settings as places I'd like to just see. Normally I want to be a character or change the course of the game just to see what would happen. Most places would be hell to go to (Like the Half-Life 2 universe) but some would be nice to visit (Like your example of Assassain's Creed). I have seen games with settings that I think are very interesting in one way or another and I would like to visit, but nothing really standout that would be too much more interesting than playing the game (Like Earthbound)

As for me, I thought of one almost immediatly while you were talking but thats mostly because I'm playing OoT right now. If OoT isn't code in your mind to just nod and smile yet, I am talking about Hyrule. I think Hyrule is a very big kingdom that seems to have some normal rules and many things unexplored. Which iteration of Hyrule? Either OoT or TP, I don't care. Another I thought of while typing this would be the Pokemon universe. Who hasn't wanted to be a Pokemon Trainer in atlease one point in their life? 'Nuff said.

Oh and to Sheefo and a bit of a contuniation of game settings I think would be hell, Sheefo mentioned Resident Evil (I'm sure you know if you are reading all of these comments, duh) I thought of games that have a neat world but wouldn't be a fun place to spend a week (A few hours would be fine but still dangerous)  like Resident Evil games, Halo, Half-Life 2, Portal, Amnesia, Silen Hill, Borderlands (Also in the ad), etc. Depending on the game something is wrong with the setting, maybe something horrible has happened and monstors are loose (RE, Amnesia, SH (Note: Have not played any SH games but I assume it is somewhat like that)) or there are other humans competing with you/your race for a certain goal (Halo, Borderlands) or you are being controlled by a higher being (Portal, Half-Life 2) In all of these cases many people are dying and so could you in the few hours that you are visiting.

One last thing, as you talk about last weeks WW I always find new things I just thought of that I didn't go over before, ussually not worth a whole topic like the Play Station discussion, but if enough people feel the same maybe we could always open a WW topic to go into a discussion farther if some of us feel the need to.

Edit: Damn CptShadow beat me to Zelda by 7 minutes! Arg! And something I just remembered, a friend of mine who I haven't seen in years (He moved, then I moved closer, we spent some tiem together then he moved again) told me that one night he had a dream where he was Link in OoT, like every movement was his own, like a Lucid Dream I guess. Sounds like it was very fun and I wonder if he tried to do anything out of the ordinary.

Initially I was going to say

Initially I was going to say how amazing it would be to visit the Citadel Station of the Mass Effect universe as there would be vast amalgamations of sapient species on one itty bitty living space. Then however I thought of a sort of counter question, would I be able to handle a situation such as that? I mean sure I chose to visit said area to see said sights but to really witness something so far from the norm and be more or less stuck there for a moment or many moments in time really made me notice something.

Video-game settings are kind of hellish, frightening places. Even the E for everyone worlds.

For instance, had I been asked this question as a small child I would have said in a heart beat "Pokemon would be totally awesome/radical/kawabunga dude!" but now that I've almost hit the ripe old age of twenty (har har) I can tell there's few places I'd want to be less. It's riddled with monsters who have super natural powers and bend the elements to their wills, they seek your blood the minute you step into knee high grass, or walk in a cave or friggan try to fish! To be an outsider of this way of life and then violently thrust into it, I can honestly say I would spend most of my time in towns, in the fetal position, tapping my shoes together crying "There's no place like home!".

The Mushroom Kingdom which is arguably the most Milktoast of all game worlds would be terrifying to the average human being.  I can't jump nearly as high as Mario so I can't really scale mass block structures or clear gaps, and it's not like there's ever a moment in Mushroom Kingdom history where it's peaceful for more than five seconds. Hell in FF8 you have to worry about giant caterpillars, basic garden pests!

The sense of dread only worsens when you consider the more "mature" settings. Sheefo for instance mentioned RE which I know I would not survive for a millisecond, DeadSpace and System Shock might as well be added to the perpetual list of where I'm most likely to be a Red Shirt.  Going back to my original choice of Mass Effect seems stupid when I mull it over. There's tons of sentient alien races yes but some only tolerate humans at best and most are down right hostile if your name isn't Shepard.

Finally allow me to shamelessly pander to Roo for a second and say I would most certainly die a terrible terrible death in the realm of Earthbound. I probably wouldn't even notice I was in an alternate setting to modern earth I mean sure there's weird dudes in body suits hitting old ladies but I live near Toronto that stuff just kind of happens, the worst part would be something completely ordinary would down right render me to a bloody pulp like a lamp or a crow or the local evil over-weight kid.

I'll stick with the mundane thanks, sense of adventure be damned.

Klonoa

Well this one surprised me really. When you asked the question of where in all of video games I would like to be, my first thought sprang to Wind Village in Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. It's no secret I love my fantasy games and Klonoa, Kirby, and NiGHTs are games I endlessly love to revisit for their wonderfully imaginative and beautifully crafted worlds and fun gameplay.

I think I also feel this would be a good place to visit because it's a peaceful setting. As much as I love Metroid, I don't think I'd like to vacation in Brimstar. I tried to cycle my mind away from Klonoa but it keeps resetting back to Wind Village.

I've lived in Hyrule practically, Link's adventures often interactacting with a variety of colorful characters. I don't need to visit Hyrule to know about it because I visit it often enough when I play. I do have something of an obsession with Okami, and I love the style of its fantasized setting of Japan... but like Hyrule, the land is very lived in by its inhabitents and frankly, some of them scare me.

I like the suburbs and quiet places so I now know why I want to go to Wind Village. I said it's peaceful, but it's also a sweet rural town with an indicated rich history. I would like to go there because it isn't as well trod as other places. Klonoa is a 'dream traveler', and it feels like he spends more time away from home than in it. His cast is also colorful and warm, so it feels like that would be an inviting place to be.

Say it's a dream. ;3

to be honest (and i might be

to be honest (and i might be looking deeper into this one then i should) i think one of the reasons people create games ( besides the money factor) is that they want to create a world sometimes close to the real one (like 1947s la noire) and sometimes fantastical like mario world and so on we play so we can see these worlds (granted along with the story and chartecters but that is not here or there) and just amerse our selves in the world of the fantasic or sci fi or history or be in a place that is like we are use to but not quite

but to anwser your question some one properly tho there are many place id like to vist (just as a background person not be the hero) (examles are la noire cause i think the 1940s are intresting and mass effect because seeing a future with the star ships and the aliens would be cool) my anwser is the dragon age world my reason for this is as someone who likes to play dnd it would be interesting to see what it would like to be in the actual setting instead of sitting at a table or dressing up and hitting someone with a nerf sword

If I had to simply "dip" into

If I had to simply "dip" into a world for a short time, I would most definitely want to be in the audience of opera house from FF6 during the Aria di Mezzo Carattere. I'm sure Roo will agree with me on that one. Except I wouldn't want to see Setzer bust in and kidnap Celes. I would want to see the performance go to completion.

Some of the places that deserve an honorable mention are the Grand Theft Auto universe (not that shitty GTAIV world), and specifically in Liberty City. As long as I don't get shot by Claude or Tony.

You could always go with the world from King's Quest or Space Quest. Yep. Going oldschool. DOS world.

I definitely don't want to live in Tron's world.

Alright, watched the wringer

Alright, watched the wringer a couple of hours ago now, and have had to really think about this. Now I know you basically said any video game world, so I'm ruling out some worlds that were based on: Books, Movies, Tabletop rpgs etc. If I left them in I'm fairly certain I know what my answer would be. So instead I leave them out and am forced to think.

I will leave it off with a Top 3

3: Spira - FFX - What can I say.. I do love the blitzball, and would jump at a chance to go see a live game with pool si... er, rink si... um, Sphere...side? seats. All though it should be noted.  Drana'c hu tuipd dryd E't pa Al Bhed.

2: Rapture - Bio Shock - Around 1956 ish, at it's height and before it's fall.

And this one was really hard to pinpoint for me. I thought about it, and thought about it. And finaly had to decide on the following.

1: Arcanum universe - A world that blends Steampunk and Magic? Too good to pass up in my book.

Had I included movies et cetra turned games as well, my list would undoubtadly include Coruscant and the Shadowrun universe. But I do feel those are kind of cop outs since more material gives them an unfair advantage of being more heavily developed, at least in my opinon.

Ah, alright, I couldn't

Ah, alright, I couldn't resist creating an account for this week's wringer question! This is just too tempting...

First of all: I totally and completely agree with Aestolia's 1st and 2nd most favourite setting. I loved the Rapture that you got to know in Bioshock's clever use of flashbacks and diary reading, combined with the gorgeous aesthetics of that city... it would be marvellous! Plus, only dipping into it for a few minutes or hours hopefully won't get you into the situation of witnessing it's downfall... that'd be messy.

Also, I have to admit that "Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magicka Obscura" is by far my all time favourite RPG for the PC. I enjoyed the hell out of that game, going so far as to create a Pen & Paper RPG adaption for the setting, because steampunk + high fantasy + classy characters + interesting backstory = a melting pot of everything I love. Although, I'd have to say: this would NOT be a setting I'd just dip into for a few hours... THIS would be something I wouldn't regret spending my life in. Dreams, dreams...

Alright, but getting to my own contribution: the setting of Bahamut Lagoon. In this gorgeous SNES RPG you have a world that basically completely consists of sky. That world does not have any kind of "ground", you don't even know if it's a planet with a solid surface, because everything happens in the sky. There are huge chunks of earth just flying through the clouds like islands in the ocean, some of them smaller, but others large enough to allow humans to settle and create kingdoms in the clouds. You travel by airships, or, if you're one of the lucky ones: by trained dragons!

Those flying "continents" are very diverse concerning their climate and vegetation - it IS a game, after all, so you NEED the obligatory desert land, the jungle land, the "evil" continent, etc. And yes, in the end, they are very much your standard fantasy kingdoms, nothing too original there. But the atmosphere, the "feeling" of this world, is just mind-blowing... Sure, you spend some time in the archetypical fantasy kingdom with knights and mages and peasants... but only until you get back onto your dragon and fly aloft, back to your airship that's waiting between the clouds.

In colours, the world of bahamut is Green, White, and a lot of Blue. I love it.

Ah, and another thought: Shining Force III. Yes, specifically the third part of the series (with the three parts of it's own, known as "Scenarios 1-3"), because: again, you have pretty much your standard fantasy setting, although Shining Force always had a knack of using interesting races for their world, like knightly Centaurs and Birdmen and so on. However, what makes the setting of SFIII that great is the political conflict between "The Republic" and "The Empire", with the endless cast of generals and lords on both sides, while neither side is really "good" or "evil". In fact, while playing a hero of the Republic in SFIII Scenario 1, you're able to switch the point of view to the prince of the Empire in Scenario 2, and playing a kind of "neutral party" in scenario 3. It is a ridiculously complex, intriguing setting with political and religious intrigues and disputes behind every corner, and heroes to save the day at the end.

In a general sense, I would

In a general sense, I would visit Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda series of course.  There's just so many varied places to see from fields to mountain tops to oceans to villages.

It's almost too broad a topic though just to say Hyrule in general, so if I had to pick one specific location it would be Hyrule Field from Twilight Princess.  It would be wonderful to horseback ride around the whole field and experience it fully.  I've often just rode around the field in-game and took in the sights without accomplishing anything that drove the game forward.  There's caves to explore, cliffsides to admire, some wonderful ancient bridges to look out from...  I don't really have to sell all the things there is to experience in the field to anyone who's played the game.  An afternoon under the Hyrulean sun would be a wonderful outing.

On a side note, as I'm just playing through Assassin's Creed 2 for the first time -- it's a wonderful game that really bridges off the first one.  It was made mention that the first game is repetative (which I couldn't agree more) but I'm about 10 hours into AC2 and haven't felt the need to put down the controller yet.  The world feels so much more robust and worth exploring.  If you're enjoying AC1, Commodore, then take a small break after you finish with it and move onto AC2.  I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Really awesome wringer, your

Really awesome wringer, your question is really tempting.

I would go with a odd choice, a world full of destruction and hate, a world that is completely emotionless in some sense.

The Warhammer 40,000 Universe.

Seeing how the war between the space marines and the orcs rages or how the cultus mechanicus works on their secret weapons on mars....

That would be awesome.

I immediately thought of

I immediately thought of OoT's Hyrule and Earthbound's Eagleland, Chommo, and Foggyland.

But probably the most fun to explore would be the Aperture Labs of Portal (sans GLaDOS and Wheatley, of course) with a Portal Gun.  How much of a blast would it be to run around in that place?!  Picking apart the puzzles for yourself instead of through the eyes of some robot (or Chell).  Hell, I would just like to have a Portal Gun!  Shoot a Portal on one wall and then on a wall across the room and just step through and you're there.  Awesome!

If I were to visit a game

If I were to visit a game setting, I'd probably end up just talking to random people there to see what they have to say. With that said, I would probably visit the world of the Lunar games, and just hang around a town and chat it up, since those NPCs always have something funny to say. Plus, because it's an RPG, chances are I might run into the heroes while I'm there.

There are a few sites I'd like to visit too, most notably Dyne's Tomb in Burg, and Taben's Peak where I could hang out with a cool dragon-human.

I can think of three game

I can think of three game worlds that i would really like to spend time in or visit

The first is NiGHTS Into Dreams. The saturn one more than the sequel for the wii. All of the dream worlds in that game are just so vivid and cool with an imaginitive layout. And not only are the dreamworlds gorgeous, they're relaxing and interesting at the same time.

The world of Space Channel 5 part 1 and 2 is my second choice. Its just too crazy and silly to pass up. all of the charcters in it are funny, happily energetic and quirky too. I mean who wouldnt wanna dance their way out of a hostage situation on a cruise ship in space?

Last is Skies of Arcadia. being in a would of islands in the sky, each with a different culture, hanging with air pirates...so cool

Sanctuary

Another world I would like to explore would be DIABLO's overworld of Sanctuary! I have always liked looking at the hidden detail in the pre-rendered backgrounds of Diablo II specifically. I know it's ment to be a scary place overrun by demons, but I find it comforting; being out in the wilderness with just your trusted weapon.

I guess in a way Diablo would be similar to Assassin's Creed. They both share themes of medieval towns and citys with primative weapons and technology. So I probabily didn't add anything new here...

Remembered while watching

Remembered while watching this video an uncle that would love the nettop since he said about ten years ago that he just wants a computer that the only thing it can do was go on the internet.

Backups dying ... I now have three copies of everything if the files are on the computer but two are on removable media and it is time consuming to backup.

This week's Wringer, the settings are all similar but Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are not a setting I would visit. I would like to visit any fantasy setting with the beauty of nature, buildings made of wood or rocks, furniture made of natural stuff, colourful clothing, Humans/non-Humans/Plants that all speak the same language, where magic exist, floating land, no cars/trucks/vans/etc., no electricity, less people and so on.

I would have to say Grim

I would have to say Grim Fandango. The 1940's art deco/aztec inspired art style environment is absolutely amazing. There are some great landscapes and areas of that universe that are absolutely amazing. I would also have to go with djb123 and say that I would love to go to the Myst universe. There are so many things to explore and has some really great environments.

Commitment Issues

Sorry for my lack of commitment, but I could only narrow it down to 4 universes:

Kingdom Hearts:  In the Kingdom Hearts games we are given a lot of info on what is going on with the people in this universe, but we really don't see much of what they actually do on a day to day basis.  In fact, the way most of the towns are set up, it would almost be impssible to live in them.  Also, I notice all of the shops only sell potions and armor and stuff.  The only thing to do in the worlds in these towns would be to give info to a traveling adventurer, stand around a town square, or get attacked by heartless.  I would deffinately like to see what it would be like to live in these worlds.  It would probably take me 2 hours each morning to put on all of my belts and figure out how all of my crazy zippers work.

EarthBound:  The world of EarthBound is pretty much like ours except litteraly anything could happen.  Any animal will visiouslly attack u at any time, a cult worshiping the color blue could form in your hometown, you could meet the loch "tess" monster, have a wise man live underground with a colony of monkeys.  Any one of the setting in this game would be fun to be apart of, and the only downside would probably be constant fear of what would happen next.

Mega Man:  The citizens of the world of Mega Man have lived in constant fear of a robot-master built by doctor wily destroying their city, but we never actually see the masterbots attack anything, they're always sitting in a room waiting to fight Mega.  It would be fun to watch everyone around me be in mass hysteria over robots made to look like guys in colorful pajamas, built by one of the most incompetent recluses this side of Eggman.

Pokemon:  Entirely disregarding the fact that the towns in Pokemon have extremely few people, with a few really small buildings with limited places to eat, it would be really interesting to see how these people live on a regullar basis.  I would probably have to do it one day though.  Anybody would get tired of living in a society entirely based on one thing.  I would like to see how their government runs too.  Chances are, every major decision is decided via Pokemon battle.  It would also be kind of weird to see kids running around with no school system, just grabbing Pokemon all day.  I think that after a while I would end up like that one kid in the Deoxys Pokemon movie who has a fear of Pokemon.  It's scary enough when a you hike through the woods and encounter a bear, but it gets straight up terrifying when the bear can shoot lazers and cause a magnitude 6 earthquake whenever it pleases.

Someone got TIE Fighter to run on Google Chrome. Or at least, the pre-release TIE Fighter demo. I knew something was off about the video, with the simpler sound effects, music being too slow, weaker player lasers, and X-Wing-style HUD information... and I think slightly different cockpit. All the same, that's pretty cool, and if the REAL TIE Fighter were loaded into DOSbox, it'd probably work.

But is there anyplace in one of those Google Chrome computer thingies to plug in a joystick?

Nice one

Great Wringer Commodore, really made me reconsider some of my initial and vastly paranoid thoughts on the subject.  If I might add a thought - I was going to type about how it'd be kind of shitty if the major player OSs also switched to this Web-Based, Kernal driven idea because they could charge you a monthly fee to access the applications we take for granted to be on a computer these days, but now I've reconsidered

Say Microsoft charges $5 a month to use their regular MS...Suite, is that what it's called?  Anyways, that would pretty much end piracy (in the traditional sense) and probably not cost that much more than you'd normally pay for the software itself.  The danger would be if that cost ever got to be too high, of course, but I think it would probably be divided into payment levels, ie. if you want to word on a document then it's $4/month, want to do fancy shit to it, like, I don't know, add a much of pictures of naked ladies and electric guitars, then it's $5/month, and so on.

It's a noodle scratcher, that's for sure.  I thank you for the insight.

As for which universe I'd live in, I have three answers -

1) The Elder Scrolls universe - Mostly because I pretty much did for about 3 months when I was obsessed with Morrowind.  There is so much texture to that world that it sort of swallows you whole.   I've since gone on to play Arena, Daggerfalls, and Oblivion and loved each one.  I've learned the lore of Dark Elves, the metaphysics of Dwarves,  the traditions of Nords, religions, socio-economic situations, political machinations, and the intrigue of guilds.  Hell you get to know even the flora and fauna of a variety of environments.  Come to think of it, I really I think I'm better prepared to live there than here!

2) The Wasteland/Fallout World - I mean, come on.  It's fuckin cool.

3) Earthbound Earth - I never thought about it until a few others mentioned it up there, but yeah, that'd be awesome.  Enter a world, as a Canadian adult, that's based on the vision of a Japanese man-child of the world as it looks through the eyes of an American Kid?  You KNOW I will.

You know what'd be a funny game?  Earthbound through the eyes of one of the people the Hero meets after he just barges into their house.

Hey folks, First of all,

Hey folks,

First of all, thank you very much for the special mentioning, Commodore. I really enjoyed hearing that.

Btw, I never pronounce smu as an abbreviation [es em you], but as a single syllable, like the word "smooth" without the th, or "too" with the t replaced by a sm. However, strictly speaking, smu is an abbreviation (an initial to be precise), so your pronounciation is correct. I still prefer my version, though, it sounds more natural.

Ok, back on topic:

My first thought was "Beyond Good and Evil". The setting is really beautiful (well, and Jade too). The island with the lighthouse would be a perfect spot for vacation. Having the Mamagos nearby would also be nice. And the camera, to make photos of all the weird animals.

My second though was "Portal" (haven't played Portal 2 yet, but I will). Just running around with a "gun" like that would be totally awesome. And a bit dangerous. I would build an "infinite mirror", if you know what I mean. And throw stuff into it.

To be honest, I never gave this question much thought (before this wringer). I always saw it the other way around: "What would it be like, if someone or something from a game would be real?" I think that's the same question, but from a very different angle. So it's a very different question.

For many games I play, your question doesn't really fit (mine neither). I guess I'm not very good at imagining 2D games coming to life (Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Mario, ...).

I like the idea of your question. But, to be honest, I like games, because they are games. I don't want to experience these adventures in real life, because it's too dangereous, maybe too expensive, but most definitely because it takes up too much time. We play games because they are cheap, safe and have a pause button (and a reset button, of course). Just watching would be pretty cool, but anything beyond that... sounds nice, but it really wouldn't be.

Ciao,
smu42

Edit: some really ugly typos

As a response to your last

As a response to your last paragraph:

Well you see, the question was "which SETTING would I like to be a part of for a while", not "which ADVENTURES would I like to have"... As far as I understand it, you can very well take a look into the setting of, say, Zelda or SoM or Portal without having to fight monsters, or having to shoot your way with a portal-gun. You know what I mean? As a matter of fact, almost every single game mentioned here is a game about adventures, danger, etc. So no single game would be "save" to take a dive into. However, that doesn't mean that the settings, the game worlds, aren't save, and that's what it's all about. I can enjoy watching Magick and Technology clash in the setting of Arcanum without having to fight assassins or undead.

And about the "takes up too much time" aspect: well, of course, every one of us has a job or a family or even a dog to take care of in Real Life. However, I guess these are things you just have to "ignore" to answer Commodore's question faithfully. Remember, this week's question is a "What if...?" question, so no taking the Real Life as an excuse. ;)

Oh hi there. I guess its

Oh hi there. I guess its scientific d6 time. Only I only have 4 this time... Scientific d4 time?

Let's get started:

1) Mushroom Kingdom (Specifically Paper Mario version)

Reason: It's generally a very peaceful place, very colourful, and very cheerful atmosphere, so an hour wandering around here would be a very relaxing way to end a day.

2) Kiamichi Village (Okami)

Reason: Also bright and peaceful, this place is more here for the wonderful characters. An hour might not be long enough to talk to all of them in great depth, but it would be a very fulfilling hour none the less.

3) "Green Flu Outbreak Scenario" (Left 4 Dead 2)

Reason: Some days things just don't go well enough for relaxing to be enough to calm you down. Well, when you have some pent up frustration, just pick up your cricket bat, pop some adrenaline, and go bash in some horde brains. And pray it doesn't run out next to the tank...

4) Aperture Science (Portal Series)

Reason: With or without the portal gun, Aperture Science would still be a great place to go. You could come home from work, do an hour's worth of science, and be back before they release the neurotoxin.

I'm actually surprised at the number of people who'd want to visit Aperature Science. I dunno, yeah maybe it would be cool, but I just can't see myself ever willingly wanting to visit some place with a sociopathic AI... Just... No...

It's like saying, I want to go visit Citadel Station and say hi to SHODAN. I just can't.
