Personally I like to play my tuba! (Yeah I am not joking, I am a girl tubist!) Band music is something I love. I also play softball. I am new to COTGW (2-16-10) so I wanna meet new COTGW peoples. Tell me anything else, (that you won't regret because you think I am a stalker) I'm always all ears.
So kinda akward.......

Ah, girl tubists... they were always the strange ones in high school... :)
I actually played the trombone myself in high school and college, so I can relate. Sadly, not much time for that lately. Other than that, I guess my hobbies include making videos. Who would have time for anything else?
Oh, well actually I do try to catch some TV and novels when I have the time. Star Trek novels especially lately, since the Next Generation relaunch.

I myself play the tuba as well. My insturctor is actually a proffesional tubist who has played with the disney orchestra (if only I could convice him to play in PLAY!) I also make videos that state my opinons on video games. I watch a lot of Tv and a lot of Youtube.
Anyway, if you wanna check me out on youtube, heres my channel Link (may be in italian, I'm vactioning there right now):

Hobbies? Now that I have two kids, I don't have any hobbies anymore :( The list of hobbies I used to have is long...

@ Boomer,
This is really interesting.... I definitely should check that out. What kind of translators are you looking for? MMM, they need to translate that entire website in Spanish :p
Anyways, how old are you guys? I thought you were the average young nerds in middle 20's
Geeks are getting old!
Actually, the Commodore and I are average young nerds in our middle 20's. Specifically, it's Boomer that's getting old.
Oh, and Airblade, I didn't welcome you to the site because I hate you. :) <------- (The smiley is meant for those unable to understand sarcasm via TCP/IP)

I'm not that old...early 30's. If you think geeks are getting old based on me, you should go to GenCon or DragonCon, where there is no shortage of greybeards.
As to AJE, I don't know what languages they are looking for you'd have to contact them.
OK..hobbies I used to do, and would still if I could:
Hiking and fishing, water skiing, camping, flying (fixed wing), rugby, tabletop miniature games (WHFB and WH40K), RPGs, WoW, video games, robotics and electronics, watching anime, reading sci-fi and fantasy, playing the bagpipes.
Admittedly, I still do some of this, but only the weekly D&D is a regular gig.

Bah, I should stop posting, since there's no love for me :(
And Boomer, I was just joking, i've seen old nerds big into table top stuff.
i've seen old nerds big into table top stuff.
Well with classic tabletop RPGs like "Lawn Defender 40K" and "Dentures & Depends", can you blame him?

40k is awesome, shame that no one plays it where I live.
But the Dawn of War games for PC are so freaking good, should try them out sometime.
well besides the vidya, My hobbies include (what is this the dating game?) my guitar, table top games, mostly D&D, but I own and enjoy Munchkin. I also play some magic, (have a deck but haven't played in years) Star wars Sagas edition, d20 modern. I watch alot of adult swim, and forced to watch Law & Order...I guess after 5 years of being orced to watch it it's grown on me, like some sort of werid rash that medication can't get rid of.
I also enjoy the finer things in life, music, art, movies, red wine and cheese.
I guess tho the thing I spend the most time with is my computer. I'm going back to school in the fall to work aon a computer science degree, I'm mostly after home computer solutions, and maybe working on a business solutions as well. I've learn as much as I can from console cracking to bios tinkering.
Boomer you play WoW? What sever?
I like building Rockman model kits, and soldering electronics. I've managed to collect build all the Bandai Rockman X, 8 and DASH model kits.
Soldering things is oddly calming (maybe it's the combination of fumes from the leaded solder and flux?)
Plus it's always fun to make something that uses electricity. One of my favorite projects was an AM radio I made in college. It kinda worked.

Roo theres nothing like the smell of burning solder in teh morning lol. Thats cool u made a radio. I made a few robot kits. One robot follows a black line (linetraker it was called). and one that when it bumps into a wall it will turn around. I also made a few fun light circuts with LEDs.
Roo... Soldering... Video Games... Consoles... Modchip.... OMG!
Hey Airblade did u case mod this meatloaf?
@ Airblade
I am 12 but played video games my whole life.
@ everyone
LuigiLuver is also my youtube account. I share it with Cyco. We are friends. He is 13 and has also played video games his whole life.

God, this forum needs an Age check!
I play the cornet and piano. Besides instruments, my non-videogame hobbies include tabletop gaming, music of most genres, cryptography (I guess you can call it that, I like creating simple encryption algorithms or attempting to figure out somebody else's)...general computer programming and emulation.
I wish I could actually solder, but I lack the ability to do anything intricate with my hands with any sort of proficiency.
COTGW orchestra
Me and Mood: Tuba
Kurara: Cornet/ Piano
Roo: Trombone
Anyone else?

IMO WoW started to suck after the first expansion. The new added content didn't appeal as much as the level 60 raids. I haven't played it since BC which was just okay.
have you heard about Cataclysm? Supposedly, they are going to revamp the whole game.

Ohh I have, but meh. WoW is just not what i used to like, plus my friends don't play it anymore. No more MMOs for me until The Old Republic.
I'm not sure if I like were Cat is going, but as an interesting note some of cats content will soon be in the game, an event will be open soon where you can finally reclaim gnomergan, a new achivement called Gnomecoming queen/king is earned after you reclaim the surface for the exiles,
i will say flying mounts in azeroth gets an A+ from me
I play bass, D&D 4th ed, and VtM. I also GM a Werewolf the Apocalypse game.
I also play a lot of pool

Honsetly, my regular D&D gaming group is what killed WoW for me. I've got a good group, and we meet regularly and it's just alot more fun to play D&D instead of WoW.
Pool? Man I love pool. I grew up with a pool table in the house and used to play all the time. My dad is a real shark, so beating him is a pretty satisfying, albeit rare, occurance.

here's a surprise, I too was in the marching band, specifically bottom bass drum. My other hobbies are various card and board games, home brewing, and I'm trying to get into wood working and planter pot making. A lot of my time is taken up by my dog and cats, you can see one in my icon pic. We don't know why he got in the fish tank, but he likes it. I've been reading a lot too, my wife got me into Pern and I'm concurrently reading Sword of Shannara and Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy. Man we really do need a book section.
Roo, Hurry up and make a book section...geez...

Yeah, so I can give my thoughts about the Thrawn Trilogy that I started reading for the first time =P (Why didn't george use those to make a fucking sequel trilogy instead)
You should be reading Darth Bane, those should have been the movies Lucas made
iz it bok tiem nao?
man I haven't read the thrawn trilogy in years. It was the first novel my dad told me I should read. And yes that would have made much better movies than the prequels.
So much love for the Thrawn Trilogy I also got the comics in a hardcover edition a few weeks ago, really neat :)
If you like Dark Horse comics you should read Legacy...not Legacy of the Froce, Legacy. It'll be the one that has Cade Skywalker shooting deathstix into his eye-balls
I've been reading the Star Wars Infinities comics. I liked A New Hope retelling, but I was disapointed with the Empire Strikes Back. I need to get Dark Empire, I've always heard good things about it and just never found it. Sadly I got rid of most of my Star Wars novels, the only one I even possess is Shadows of the Empire. My brother has the Thrawn trilogy and the x-wing series. Those books delivered on my man crush for Wedge.
I don't think Roo needs to make a Books Forum now since this has pretty much become the book topic :P. I just kidding though, I guess a book forum would be cool for all the people who read. Pffft, reding iz fer chomps.
MMM... I should get the Dark Empire comics... =P
thanks for your comments guys. Cyco Happy B-day

I don't play an instrument.
I like to read when I can. Mostly, I read books to my kids, but I like autobiographies. I've read Bruce Campbell's book and Mick Foley's book (wrestling fan or not, the book is really good), and I am reading Craig Ferguson's book now. Obama's book is out of the question. I don't care enough to even pick it up.
I also enjoy the occasional sci-fi book. I love the Hitchhiker's "trilogy".
Ther are so many Star Wars and Star Trek books out there that I don't know where to start and have decided that I'm not gonna try for the time-being.
I also like working on remodeling my house. It is a slow, slow process, though.
ahh, Tommy if I've told you once I've told you a million times I'll hook you up on what Star Wars books to be reading :)
I love perler beading and collecting Transformers and Bionicles.
