I've been watching a little internet program called Playback (it;s on yahoo, you can look it up there} and it 's a little show about video games. The last few months I've been watching they've been showing off new tech to help handicapped people play video games. Check this out:

The new project Natal for  the Xbox is mapping nerves in the human body so that one day to play games you merly move your fingers or wave your arms. Image playing Guitar Hero with not a controller, but your finger tips, and pressing them to your thumb to play the different notes.

A college has reverse engineered a web cam to catch light refecting from your eyes. Yes, that means you cna now operate computers with your eyes! The first application forthis new tech? Video games.

This is what brings me to me point: Where once we were a civilazation that used to turn it's tools into toys, now we are one that makes it's toys into tools.  Even video games themselves are being used as tools. England is experimenting with a game that helps children learn to confront bullies. What was once a race to get to the end of the level are not tools we are using to help children deal with everyday problems they face.

What other Gadgets to you think we use as toys that will one day become important tools?
