All of them are lv. 100, and I'm pissed I can't transfer them to the more recent games. I've considered moving them up to Gen II, but have decieded against it since I can't get them to Gen V.
I like the idea you have for transfering your Pokemon. I'm also with you could just transfer your games to the gen 2 then make your way up to 5! But the problem is that Gen 2 games cannot transfer to Gen 3. So thats why the Value of Jhoto Pokemon went up in Gen 3 and Gen 4.
My red/blue team is still my best team bar none. I have subsequently caught or raised individually better Pokemon, but taken as a whole they are still without equal.
Touranment legal version: Jolteon, Jynx, Chansey, Lapras, Slowbro, and Gengar.
Legendaries included version: Mew Two, Mew (not a hacked one), Jolteon, Lapras, Slowbro and Chansey.
All lvl 100, all awesome. My Slowbro usedto eat legendaries for breakfast with Thunder Wave/Fissure combo. I would LOVE to be able to trade members of this team to Diamond/Pearl and/or Black/White so I could finally compose my ultimate dream team!
These are pre ev/iv training Pokemon, but I would still reserve a place of honor for them alongside my more recent hatchlings, and I have every confidence that they would prove worthy of said honor. Come home with your shield or on it, bishes.< 3
Maze did almost always win, but Butterfree, Gengar, Alakazam, Venusaur, Mewtwo, and Mew. LeafGreen is pretty much the same game so transfering the really old isn't that big a deal imo. Aw. Poor Mazey. Can't give SlowBro Fissure now. =( Usable bug moves, quickclaw, and tailwind makes about anything worth it to me. Yay Butterfree not sucking quite as hard! =D
I haven't touched FireRed in ages, but my better Pokemon consisted of Charizard, Gyarados, Kadabra, Primeape, Venomoth, and Fearrow, I think. I also have a decent-leveled Raichu I used for a while, but I don't remember what that one's like. The only Legendary I have thus far is Zapdos; I haven't finished the game. To be honest, I've never finished a Pokemon game. There's no particular reason, and I'm not doing it on purpose; I just get sidetracked. But also, I do get tired of the mindless leveling that eventually has to be done. You don't have to do it for all of your beasties, at least, if you don't want to. But you will have to eventually start doing it when you need a certain set of abilities, usually for a gym battle, so...
The closest I've come to finishing a game is SoulSilver; I'm almost there! I just....need to do some mindless leveling and complete the final battles! D:
@Moggy: SHUT IT, BISH!! < 3 I miss SlowBro being a usable Pokemon at all. The new move set available for SlowBro is pretty meager. You can't even give it any really decent egg moves. Meanwhile Dragon type Pokemon are becoming increasingly OP. They are DEFINITELY the modern gen equivalent of Psychics in 1st gen Pokemon games. No, they are not OP to anywhere NEAR the extent Psychics were before the introduction of Dark type and decent Bug moves, but it's moving in that direction. And just ftr? My Fire Red Jolteon can take super effective earthquake from your WiFi trade MewTwo in BR, can 2 hit said MewTwo with Thunderbolt, and is faster in the bargain. Without double sleep Darkrai, you lose 2 out of every 3 battles. Period. Even my tournament legal team can frequently take your WiFi traded legendaries down. Why? Because Pokemon raised with love and care are superior to random trades off WiFi. You KNOW you haven't got a single Pokemon out of all your trades with Baby's stats. Or even my Sapphire Milotic's. My Pokemon > Yours. Sorry. =(
@Shirow: WiFi trading has basically done away with the need for serious grinding in newer Pokemon games like Diamond/Pearl, Soul Silver/Heart Gold, and Black/White. Just catch yourself a Pokemon that is only extant in your version of the game and not in Heart Gold (you can find out your game's exclusives on sites like: Bulbapedia). Throw it up on the global trading network in exchange for a high lvled power hitter and go forth and beat the game. They have now made it just that easy. You only ever really NEED a couple of well chosen lvl 50+ Pokemon for your first Elite Four battle.
In SSilver/HGold and Black/White you will also need a good lvl 70+ duo for your second go round with League battling (Kanto League in SS/HG). These can be easily obtained either through WiFi or by catching high lvled legendaries. I do NOT advise relying on WiFi trades for any kindof serious Pokemaniac. Pokemon raised by the trainer are 9 cases out of 10 superior in every way. Especially if they are iv trained from the egg, possess hard to obtain egg moves, and ev trained to high levels.
But if you just want to play casually and beat the game without tedious grinding, WiFi trades are just the ticket. I would recommend obtaining a decent Water type and a decent Electric type (or Fire and Grass if you prefer) lvl 50+ to beat the Elite Four. That's all you will really need. Anything the one type can't handle, the other should be able to take out (as long as you have chosen their moves with care). There's no need to grind excessively for the casual Pokemon player anymore. Some of us just like the abuse. =D
@Maze You just got lucky getting that really good Jolteon without even breeding.
@Shirow Talk about grind. Try breeding IV/EV training. Holy crap. It's just one of those games. You can spend as much or as little time with it as you want.
Here's a bit of related news; if you want MewTwo for Black/White, or at least, an easy way to do it, you'll be able to easily get one via download in February! Japan got this already, and he came with the exclusive attack Electro Ball, plus Shadow Ball, Aura Sphere, and Psystrike. I assume the North American version will be the same.
Alrighty. So basically, I never restarted my Pokémon Red Cart, so I have the same team from when I was a really little kid.
Charizard, Alakazam, Pidgeot, Lapras, Dugtrio, Snorlax
All of them are lv. 100, and I'm pissed I can't transfer them to the more recent games. I've considered moving them up to Gen II, but have decieded against it since I can't get them to Gen V.
